Italian and French Riviera Vacation - September 28th - October 9th

10-Nights With Air From LAX - Just $3,375
Including departure taxes!

It's going to be a tough choice this fall. Here's another trip that we've been asked to repeat that was a huge hit back in 2013. We will have 3-nights in the Provence area, 4-nights in Nice and finally 3-nights on the Italian Riviera.

We will depart LAX (other gateways are optional) with our group contract on British Airways that will bring us to the airport in Nice, France. Our coach will then take us to the very quaint town of Arles.

Located on the Rhone river, Arles' fame is sealed by the extraordinarily well-preserved Roman arena, Les Arènes, at the city's heart, and backed by an impressive variety of other stones and monuments, both Roman and medieval. It was the key city of the region in Roman times. It's a very interesting and cute, compact Medieval town that will make a great base to explore some of the many ancient towns that are within easy driving distance that we will have optional tours of include the stunningly beautiful Aix-en-Provence, the immaculately preserved town of Avignon that's enclosed by medieval walls, the picturesque Provencal village of Gordes  much favored by Parisian media personalities, film directors and artists; the immaculate preserved villages of Luberon, and the most renowned and populated city in France after Paris, Marseille. We'll be starting off with a bang on this stop as our hotel here is the fabulous, 5-star, highly ranked Hotel Jules Cesar Arles MGallery Collection. See more details below. You will absolutely love Arles.

We then will move on to Nice.

It might be a cliché to say Nice has something for everyone, but the Côte d’Azur’s cosmopolitan capital pretty much does. Nice is much more than just a place for fun in the sun. Art aficionados’ must-sees include major museums. Archaeological buffs ruminate over the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Cemenelum. Flaneurs ferret out secret passages leading to narrow pedestrian laneways in the romantic old town, lingering over the sights and scents of the colorful flower and produce markets, and trawling for antiques. Gastronomes go gaga over finely prepared food, from chic little bolt holes to family-style French cooking and Michelin-starred cuisine. Barflies flit to the perpetually-buzzing watering holes, and hipsters hop between ever-emerging hotspots.

Now we are in the heart now of the French Riviera for 4 nights and will not only enjoy exploring Nice but will have easy access to some of the most exotic and interesting nearby towns in the world such as Monaco, St. Tropez and Cannes.  We will have optional tours to explore these nearby towns. We will likely hire the same guide we had in 2013 whom everyone just loved. Our hotel here is right on the waterfront in the thick of all the action.

For our final stop we will be spending 3-nights at the coastal town of Santa Margherita. You will love this quaint town nestled in to the hills, a short walk or boat ride to Portofino.

Santa Margherita Ligure, called the Perla del Tigullio (Pearl of Tigullio), is a famous, elegant seaside resort, one of the major resorts in the Riviera di Levante, the section of the Italian Riviera east of Genoa. Santa Margherita had a brief moment in the spotlight in the beginning of the 20th century when it was an internationally renowned retreat. Fortunately, the seaside town didn't let fame spoil its charm, and now it's no longer as well known a destination as its glitzy neighbor Portofino. A palm-lined harbor, a decent beach, and a friendly ambience make Santa Margherita a fine place to settle down for a few days of sun, relaxation and a great place to explore some of the other nearby towns such as Cinque Terra, Camogli and Portofino or to just relax and soak up this vacation retreat on the Italian Riviera. .

After our 3-nights in Santa Margherita we will end another memorable trip and bus to the Milan airport - the end of another amazing journey.

Hotel Jules Cesar Gallery Colletion - 5-star - Website - Tripadvisor, #8 out of 58

A hotel of character Arles designed by Christian Lacroix A former 17th century Carmelite convent, the Jules César is now a hotel of character which combines elements of the 18th century with contemporary art, without forgetting its past.

Having been entirely renovated between late 2013 and early 2014 by the master of fashion Christian Lacroix, the hotel has impressed and surprised us. The hotel is a real journey through time, where nothing is left to chance. The days of yore are recounted in the lobby, with busts of Julius Caesar and Venus. Then, reference to the existence of the old monastery can be found in certain details such as the way in which the room numbers are written. Interplay of perspectives and materials, the building today is a poetic world where design expresses itself.

Old stones mix with modern materials and sparingly-added pops of colour are revealed by tricks of the light. Every detail creates this very particular ambiance, enabling the building to subscribe to an idea of a second home telling a story of life. 5-star hotel with pool and gourmet restaurant Recounting everything that the building has experienced, from Antiquity to modern times, the luxury hotel offers real 5 star comfort.

The bedrooms and suites, on the themes "Provençale","Monacale" and "Christian Lacroix" combine comfort and discovery. During your stay, you can enjoy taking advantage of the gourmet restaurant, the outdoor pool, the lounges or perhaps the bar, where you can get together for a drink, just as the residents of yesteryear would have done. Outside, the timelessness of the place asserts itself naturally and invites the guests on a delightful walk through the cloisters and the gardens, with their Mediterranean plants such as thyme, lavender and rosemary. Located in Arles town-centre, the hotel restaurant fits in perfectly with this historic neighbourhood. In a tranquil area, except during the famous Féria bull-fighting festival and the music festival, the hotel also benefits from the beautiful cultural dynamic of the town.
