This is the ultimate Greece
vacation with part land and part cruise.
We’ll land in Athens on a Thursday
morning and tour the famous
Acropolis and home of the Parthanon. On Friday morning we’ll head
over to the island of
Mykonos
for the next 3 nights. This island
is not only picturesque with it’s white buildings and blue trim,
the narrow meandering streets with cute shops and restaurants and
famous windmills, it’s also THE place for nightlife on the
weekends with many Europeans who come here. We’ll have a tour set
up that will take us on a 45 minute boat ride to the island of
Delos, which is an entire city
of ruins with no current inhabitants. It’s also fun to rent a
scooter or car and tour Mykonos and spend the day at one of the
most beautiful, as well as hip and happening beaches in the
Mediterranean. Then, we board the Monarch Classic Cruises
ship Ocean Monarch for a 4-day cruise that will take in the
enchanting islands of Rhodes, Crete, Kusadassi (Ephesus,
Turkey), Patmos (famous for John the Baptist’s Revelation) and
the idyllic island of Santorini. We’ll debark on this
adorable island and spend 2 more days on land. This is the ideal
introduction to the jewels of the Aegean. At press time we were still finalizing our hotels so we do not have a
definitive cost yet, and these
Europe trips can get pricey due to the Euro, but it will most likely come in at
approx. $2,750 with air, transfers, all lodging, daily breakfast,
4-night cruise with all meals and sightseeing tour in
Athens. Not included are
departure taxes (about $250) and port taxes (about $90). Outside
cabin upgrades for $125 additional pp. That is a terrific group
savings for this trip and you will love our hotels in Mykonos and
Santorini (look for links in your email updates). We’ll be
returning in time for Mother’s Day. To sign up, send your
deposit of $200 to our office or use our online event shopping
cart. Early signups receive the better rooms. Greeks say “OPA”
when they are celebrating and raising their glasses to toast.
